The shortest calendar month is nearly over on the page, but there 's still so much left to happen. There are lots of really good things pending in my life. Right now, I'm focusing on my 2008 goal to rid my life of toxicity, including toxic people. I'm getting older; I don't have time for negativity. And in that vein, my wonderful friend Maggie Shayne sent me a perpetual calendar with positive quotes, a truly thoughtful gift. I've been posting quotes from the same source in my cube at work every day this year, and they really help in those moments when things start to go poisonous.
- In January, I went on a writing retreat with my Purple friends...and wrote over 50 pages in two days. PURPLE ROSES!

- My current Work In Progress is coming along very nicely. I'm nearly at the end of a Book-In-A-Week challenge hosted monthly by my local RWA chapter, and I'm past the midway point of the book. I love this white heat of creativity.
- I'm thoroughly enjoying Y-Chromo's Senior Year of High School.
- I have a wonderful week planned ahead of me, including several evenings of dinners out with friends and family. Oh, and a three day weekend beckoning me as I type this! I plan to indulge in some serious writing, folks.
Keeping busy seems to be my key to beating the Febru-Wearies. What's yours?
