. . . Valentine's Day. Remember I mentioned 5 FEET of snow? Well, now I'm hearing that the total for areas north of my city is either 8 or 9 FEET. In one week. CNN, The Weather Channel, ABC News . . . everyone told our story. And you know what? Gimme snow over other natural phenomena any day of the week.
TV Stevie told me last night that next week is supposed to be nearly as bad, accumulation-wise, so I suggested we do one of our bi-monthly grocery shopping marathons today. He agreed. Luck was with us. It finally stopped snowing and the sun came out!
Here's how it works: I sit down with my Day Runner and figure out how many dinners I actually have to cook. Then I write out two weeks' worth of menus. After that, I write two grocery lists: one for TV and one for me. We go to the supermarket, grab carts and split up. When we're done, we meet at the front of the store and check out. He unloads the car, I put away everything. We usually do this on Sunday mornings while the Chromos are at religious education, but TV has Brotherhood tomorrow, and we had to be out-and-about today already for the All-City Instrumental Music Festival (Y-Chromo plays alto sax).
And it has started snowing again. But it's okay. I have boxes of muffin mix; ingredients for tortellini soup; loaves of bread in the freezer; jars of sauce and boxes of pasta in the cupboard; romaine, fresh spinach, butternut and acorn squash; Weight Watcher ice cream bars.
If you were to be snowed in, what comfort foods would you want on hand?

Glad to hear you're all stocked up! The snow looks pretty! Too bad it won't stay all clean and bright.

Wow, Molly, you're stocked! I'm at work with a liftime supply of Raman noodles & chocolate in my desk. Oh and animal crackers. I'm set for awhile.
